TRUSTED BY:

  • The Nagamo library is a growing catalog of original music, all from creators who self-identify as Indigenous.

Each track is cleared for production and can be licensed individually on the site directly. If you need more than one track, contacting us to purchase a blanket license is also an option. This will allow you to download and utilize many tracks in your projects.

  • There is no generally accepted definition of 'Indigenous peoples'. However, a working definition is those who practice unique traditions and retain social, cultural, economic, and political characteristics distinct from dominant societies, begot through conquest, occupation, settlement or other means.

Nagamo was created in Canada and a majority of our music features First Nations, Metis, and Inuit artists.

We recognize the global presence of Indigenous groups and are actively seeking relationships and collaborations to expand this definition of 'Indigenous music'.

  • The Nagamo Library commissions original tracks from Indigenous composers, while also hosting existing composer catalogs. By licensing through Nagamo, you are directly supporting our contributing composers.

  • All the traditional sounds featured in the library are original creations and do not represent any ceremonial or sacred songs from any one specific nation. Each contributor knows their sounds will be remixed by other Indigenous composers and have given express permission to do so. This allows productions to utilize this music worry-free.

  • The Nagamo Library offers an online database that can be searched by a variety of filter options, including genre, instrumentation, mood, and density. As we continue to build the library, our options for searching by nation, tribe, or region will also continue to grow. Currently we offer searching between First Nations, Metis, and Inuit.
